Financial Reports and Budget
The city's fiscal (financial) year begins July 1st and extends to the next June 30th. Every year, South Salt Lake produces several important financial documents, including:
- The Adopted Budget
- The RDA Adopted Budget
- A Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
The South Salt Lake Adopted Budget details how the City allocates funds to various City functions and services. Budget discussions typically begin in the Spring with the Mayor presenting a tentative budget by mid-May. The public is encouraged to comment on the budget at public hearings held during the budget process.
All financial transactions -- along with other useful financial information -- are compiled into the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which is audited by an independent certified public accounting firm. The independent auditors then present the results of their work to the City Council.
