In partnership with Salt Lake City Public Utilities, South Salt Lake Stormwater offers residents the opportunity to buy low-cost rain barrels. Rain barrels are for collecting rainwater for use in watering potted plants and landscapes, and not to be used for storing drinking water or for resale purposes.
Program Benefits
- Save money on your water bill by using your collected rainwater for potted plants and landscapes.
- Conserve ground water by watering with collected rainwater instead of culinary water.
- Reduce water pollution by decreasing stormwater runoff that can be contaminated in roads and gutters before entering into our natural waterways.
- Collect clean water for potted plants and landscapes that love the nutrient-rich rainwater.

- Purchase your rain barrel and accessories online. After placing your order, you can pick up your rain barrel and/or accessories at the Salt Lake City Public Utilities office located at 1805 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
