General Contact Form

For general feedback and quesitons, fill out our Contact Form and use the dropdown field to select the reason for your submission. It will be forwarded to the appropriate department for a prompt response.

Report a Code Violation

Code Enforcement works to promote and protect the overall health, safety, and welfare of our residents and businesses. Officers respond to all issues and complaints reported by the public in regard to property maintenance, housing, health/safety, and graffiti violations.

Report a Road Issue

The Public Works department is deligent in addressing city road issues and conducting annual maintenance on the city's transportation infrastructure.  Please report any issues you see related to city roads including pot holes, lane markers, and street sign obstruction. Our Streets team will respond to all concern. (Note: State St, 700 East, 2100 South, and 3300 South are roads owned and operated by UDOT.)

Report a Streetlight Outage

Most (but not all) streetlights in South Salt Lake neighborhoods are owned and operated by Rocky Mountain Power. When you report a streetlight outage to us, we will investigate to determine if it's city owned for us to fix, and if not we will contact Rocky Mountain Power to address the issue.

Report a Traffic Safety Concern

Traffic safety issues are addressed through multiple departments within the city -- Police, Engineering, Neighborhoods. The city established a Traffic Safety Committee to review and address all traffic safety complaints received from the public. Submit traffic safety or speeding concerns to the committee.

Report Water Waste

If you see water waste in South Salt Lake, report it to our Water team so we can contact the property owner to fix the issue. Use our general contact form and select "Water Waste" from the drop down menu. If a property owner is watering landscape during the daytime hours of 10 am to 6 pm, we will contact them and provide education about the city's daytime landscape watering ordinance.

Report Stormwater Illicit Discharge

Dumping anything other than pure, clean water into the storm drain system is illegal. If you see someone dumping into a storm drain or gutter, report the discharge and our Stormwater crew will investigate. Report a Homeless Concern

The SSL Police Department has Homeless Resource Officers (HROs) that specialize and focus on assisting community members experiencing homelessness within our city with dignity and respect. Use this form to report a homeless concern. For non-emergent issues, you can also call Police Dispatch at 801-412-3600. If you are experiencing an emergency situation, call 911.
