The South Salt Lake Amateur Radio Team (SSLART) is a group of amateur radio operators in the South Salt Lake area who support the city by providing communications during emergency situations and at public service events.

Monthly Meetings

In-person meetings are held from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the South Salt Lake Community Center (2530 S 500 E) in the Senior Center.

Net meetings are hosted every Thursday night at 9:00 pm using the 447.700 megahertz (MHz) repeater frequency. It has a negative 5 MHz offset (442.700) and a PL tone of 100hz. Anyone who is licensed is welcome to join the weekly nets. If you are interested in becoming a licensed HAM radio operator, please come to our monthly meeting.

HAM Scholarship Program

Interested in the world of HAM radio? We're excited to announce a new scholarship opportunity for those who live in South Salt Lake, or would be willing to respond to emergency situations that may arise in South Salt Lake. Each selected participant will receive a comprehensive training booklet to study and prepare for the FCC HAM radio exam, and once the exam is passed, they will receive a radio. 

Participants in the program are expected attend five monthly HAM meetings and three in-person city events over the course of 12 months. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and connect with fellow radio enthusiasts.
