Food Pantry

South Salt Lake partners with Mosaic InterFaith Ministries to operate a local food pantry that serves residents facing food insecurity.

To access food pantry resources, visit one of Mosaic's programs.

• Mosaic Interfaith Ministries located at 2700 S 20 E
  • Monday-Thursday, 8 am-2:45 pm.
• Mosaic Interfaith's Manna Market at  Central Park Community Center (2797 S 200 E) 
  • Tuesday-Thursday, 8 am-9:45 am.
• The Co-Op located inside the South Salt Lake Community Center (2530 S 500 E)
  • Monday-Thursday, 9 am-8 pm.
  • Fridays, 9 am-5 pm. 

To support the food pantry, make food or monetary donations to Mosaic online through their website, by calling (801) 588-0139, or visiting them at 2700 S 20 E.

Utility Assistance Program

The Utility Assistance Program helps low-income individuals and families living in South Salt Lake with their utility bills. The program is funded through donations that are placed into a fund exclusively used for low-income utility assistance in South Salt Lake.

To apply for utility assistance, contact Utah Community Action to apply through the HEAT Program. Visit them online or call them at (801) 359-2444.

To support the program, make a secure, online donation or call SSL Utility Billing at (801) 483-6000.

Critical Home Repairs

Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake helps families maintain safe and healthy living conditions through their Critical Home Repair Program (CHiRP). Habitat for Humanity's team inspects your home to assess critical repairs and mobility challenges, and then creates a customized repair plan and manages the entire construction process for the homeowner. Resources are available. If you or someone you know are in need, speak with a resource specialist to get connect to available resources.

Speak with someone in-person, visit the Co-Op located inside the South Salt Lake Community Center (2530 S 500 E).

On the phone, simply dial 211 to be connected with a resource specialist through United Way.

Online, visit 211utah.org to view a list of programs ranging from housing and food support to mental health services.

Season of Sharing

Season of Sharing is a time for our community to come together during the holiday season to support families in our community with the highest needs.  We work with our local schools, afterschool programs, and city staff to get referrals of families to support. Through community involvement, we have provided essential basic needs and holiday wish list items for local kids and families over the years.

Season of Sharing is a program in coordination with Promise South Salt Lake, South Salt Lake Youth City Council, and South Salt Lake Police Athletics and Activities League.

Ways You Can Support (please make donations and drop-off toys by December 15)

1. Make a tax-deductible donation through PALS and let us do the shopping; donate online or call (801) 412-3607.
2. Donate toys and gifts for all ages; drop-off unwrapped items to the Promise South Salt Lake office (220 E Morris Ave, 3rd floo) by December 10. Consider hosting a toy/donation drive to collect items.
3. Volunteer and help us set up and organize the space, greet families, and guide them through picking their gifts, wrap gifts, and more.

Angel Paw Tree

South Salt Lake Animal Services hosts the Angel Paw Tree each holiday season for people to help make life a little easier for our animal shelter friends. It's easy to help with low price points. We need everything from beds and toys, to food and cleaning supplies. Stop by Animal Sevices to adopt a pet, or visit our Amazon wishlist and purchase online.
