Police Officer Positions

  • Officer hourly pay starts at $31.27 and tops out at $48.14 an hour.
  • After 4 years with SSLPD, eligible to advance to Police Officer 2. Police Officer 2 hourly pay starts at $38.66 and tops out at $50.87.
  • Vacation is accrued at 4 hours per month and increases by 1 hour per month for every 5 years with South Salt Lake.  Sick leave is accrued at 4 hours per pay period.
  • Years of service for lateral officers will be assessed and credited for previous years of law enforcement experience.
  • Use of a department vehicle is available for officers.  Approved for use for work-related travel and to a fitness facility.

Non-Sworn Positions
