Notice – Opportunity for Public Hearing
The City of South Salt Lake, in coordination with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), invites the public to request a public hearing regarding proposed improvements to State Street at Wentworth Avenue. As part of its “Life on State” construction project, South Salt Lake is proposing the following traffic control measures to increase safety and reduce accidents including closing the left turn lane from Wentworth Avenue northbound onto State Street by extending an existing center median curb on State Street at the Wentworth Avenue intersection.
Any person with a social, economic or environmental interest in the project may request in writing that a public hearing be held. Requests for a public hearing will be accepted until January 30, 2026. Requests may be submitted in writing via email to: aandrus@sslc.gov or by mail to: South Salt Lake City, c/o Ariel Andrus, 220 East Morris Avenue, South Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. All mail or email must be postmarked on or before January 30, 2026.

Request for Proposals (RFP): South Salt Lake Community Center Auditorium Audio and Video System Upgrade
The City of South Salt Lake is requesting proposals for the project titled: South Salt Lake Community Center Auditorium Audio and Video System Upgrade. Services will include audio and video installation and upgrades to the Community Center.
Proposals must be submitted to the City of South Salt Lake by Friday, January 23, 2025, no later than 4:00 pm MST (“Submission Deadline”). City is not responsible for proposals delivered incorrectly or for failure to receive.
Submissions shall be sent as a single PDF to aandrus@sslc.gov. Separate attachments will not be accepted.
Proposers wishing to verify receipt of the proposal may contact Ariel Andrus at aandrus@sslc.gov.
Submissions that are late, incomplete, or do not meet submission format and contents as described in this RFP will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject all submissions or to waive any informality in any submissions if deemed in the best interest of the City. The City does not guarantee that a contract will be awarded following the submission deadline.
Notice of Public Hearing and Comment Period
The City of South Salt Lake, in coordination with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), invites the public to attend a public hearing on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 7:30 pm or as soon thereafter as possible in the Council Chambers at the South Salt Lake City Hall, located at 220 E Morris Avenue, South Salt Lake City, Utah 84115 on proposed improvements to State Street at Haven Avenue. As part of its “Life on State” construction project, South Salt Lake is proposing the following traffic control measures to increase safety and reduce accidents including closing the left turn lane from Haven Avenue northbound onto State Street by installing a new center median on State Street at the Haven Avenue intersection and installing corner bulb outs to shorten pedestrian crossings and slow vehicle speeds turning onto local streets.
Public comments will be accepted from the date of this publication through January 28, 2026. Comments may be submitted in person at the public hearing or if unable to attend written comments may be submitted via email to: aandrus@sslc.gov or by mail to: South Salt Lake City, c/o Ariel Andrus, 220 East Morris Avenue, South Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. All mail or email must be postmarked on or before January 28, 2026.

Invitation to Bid:
The City of South Salt Lake will accept bids for the project titled: SSL 2026 Sewer Lining
Project, until 2:00 p.m. on January 23rd, 2026. Bids received after 2:00 p.m. will not be opened. The scope of work for this contract includes furnishing and installing the equipment, facilities, services, and appurtenances thereto as included in the Contract Documents. The Work generally includes, but is not limited to, the following: Furnishing and installing sewer pipe lining per Project Specifications (APWA 32 05 23.40). All required documents for the bidding process shall be directly submitted to Bonfire, by 2:00 p.m. on January 23rd, 2026.
Plans and specifications for the project can be obtained from Bonfire or the City Recorder, Ariel Andrus, at aandrus@sslc.gov after 9:00 a.m. on January 5th, 2026. There will NOT be a Pre-Bid Meeting for this project. Bids will be opened at 2:30 p.m. on January 23rd, 2026. Sealed bids will be received based on local prevailing time, bids will be publicly opened and read by the OWNER at the City Council Chambers located on the second floor of 220 East Morris Avenue, South Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. A 5% Bid Security will be required. The City of South Salt Lake reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality or technicality in any bid if deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
